Brush Fire burns on island close to 17 highway north of downtown Moses Lake

CORRECTION: Previously post stated the fire was on Marsh Island. The fire is nit bur on Marsh Island and is burning on a small side off north of SR-17 between the Stratford Rd, and Broadway exits.

MLFD and GCFD 5 (Grant County Fire District 5) have been on the scene of a brush fire burning on an island near the 17-highway. As of now the cause of the fire is unknown and there are no threats to any structures or the highway at this time. The first calls to dispatch came in at 1:30pm this afternoon according to officials.
