Congressman Dan Newhouse has been asking Governor Inslee to make residential construction as an essential. This asking could put construction workers and their families at a higher risk of getting exposed to COVID-19.
Newhouse sent a letter to Governor Inslee asking that residential construction workers to be added to the essential businesses proclamation list. The asking comes with risks. Grant Counties COVID-19 cases have jumped to 77 with Quincy becoming the counties epicenter with 36 cases.

Newhouse stated that the pause in construction will increase homelessness percentages across the state.
