11 rescued after boat capsizes in Seattle’s Elliot Bay

- Seattle, WA

A boat capsized in Elliot Bay near Seattle’s waterfront Saturday evening. All eleven people on the capsized boat were rescued by Seattle FD and brought aboard their vessel where the U.S. Coast Guard assisted. Seattle FD then took the rescued passengers to Station 5 on Alaskan Way where they met with paramedics and evaluated each individual.

The incident happened around 10:30pm, Seattle FD said the boat was squid fishing when the boat reportedly lost it’s engine causing it to float towards the pier where a large wave caused the boat to capsize.
