7 Injuries and 1 Fatality in Late Night Ephrata Crash

A Moses Lake woman was killed in a crash south of Ephrata Tuesday night and seven others were injured and taken to a nearby hospital. 


The crash happened just after 9:00 p.m. pst Tuesday Night. According to Washington State Patrol, 38-year-old Andrew Gilbert was driving a Pontiac G6 with 33-year-old Moses Lake resident Monica Gonzalez in the passenger seat. The two were sitting in their Pontiac vehicle and was stopped at a stop sign on Road 9 NW before turning onto SR 283. 


Troopers say the 38 year old Andrew Gilbert pulled out in front of an oncoming Toyota Sequoia, which hit the Pontiac on the right passenger side, killing Gonzalez. Gilbert was injured and taken to Columbia Basin Hospital. The six people who were in the Sequoia, were all injured and taken the hospital out of precaution their ages ranged from ranged in age from three to 76 years old, The WSP said neither drugs or alcohol were involved in this crash.
