Local Ephrata stunt man attempting world record at ML Airshow has passed away according to GCSO

28-year-old Ephrata native Alex Harvill who was attempting to break a world record by jumping 351-foot motorcycle jump at the Moses Lake Airshow at the Grant County International Airshow Thursday morning has passed away confirmed by The Grant County Sheriff’s Office. According to eyewitnesses as Harvill was attempting the jump he crashed when landing and was then rushes to the hospital.


His conditions were unknown at the time of the incident. Alex Harvill also set a world record for the longest dirt-to-dirt jump of 297 feet at Horn Rapids Motorsports Complex in Richland back in 2013.

The Moses Lake Airshow posted on Facebook, “our hearts are with Alex and his family, all proceeds from today’s jump will be donated to Alex to contribute to his medical expenses”.


According to the Sheriff’s office Coroner Morrison’s office will conduct an autopsy on Friday to confirm the cause of death.
