Man dies after being attacked by his dog near Moses Lake Thursday afternoon

The man suffered critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital by LifeFlight but succumbed to his injuries, the sheriff’s office confirmed.

MOSES LAKE — A man died after reportedly being attacked by his dog Thursday morning near Moses Lake.


First responders were dispatched to the Harvest Manor Mobile Home Park, located at 4815 Airway Drive, at about 11:20 a.m. after receiving reports of an animal attack, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.


The dog is a pit bull or pit bull mix and is receiving care at a local veterinary clinic for injuries sustained in the incident.

The man suffered critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital by LifeFlight but succumbed to his injuries, the sheriff’s office confirmed.


A woman at the residence was also attacked by the dog and suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and is being treated at Samaritan Hospital for her injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.


Authorities said the details surrounding the incident remain under investigation and detectives have not interviewed the woman involved.


The man has not been identified but friends and family remembered the man on social media late Thursday night. As a practice, MLWA7 News is withholding the identity until the Grant County Coroner’s Office identifies the man.
