A Mason County Sheriff's deputy is being airlifted to a hospital after suffering a "severe" head injury during a search and rescue operation near the Skokomish River.Â
The live video playing above is from KING 5's SKY King where the rescue for the deputy is happening. King 5 news reported that Mason County Sheriff Chief Ryan Spurling, the deputy was part of a three-person search mission when the incident happened. The team goes out annually when the Skokomish River levels are low to look for missing people.Â
