Milton Freewater man shoots himself to cover up his gambling debt, transported to Walla Walla
- Walla Walla, WA/Milton Freewater, OR
Johnson Le wasn't having his luck Wednesday night. Milton-freewater PD responded to a call at 9:00pm called in by Le's wife stating he was shot by an unknown masked intruder in their backyard in Milton Freewater, OR.
When Milton Freewater PD arrived to assess the scene they found no traces nor evidence of a robber in the presence of the backyard just before the call came in. Le was taken from Oregon to St. Mary's Medical Center in Walla Walla in Washington State for a gunshot injury to his arm.
However, once the initial investigation from Oregon came in, it showed he had inflicted the 9mm Glock bullet wound by shooting himself in the arm. According to OSP and Milton Freewater PD Mr and Mrs. Le will be facing a number of charges for participating in the false robbery report.
The wound was not life threatening, but one of the first clues was it was administered at way too close range to match Mr.Le's "Robbery encounterment" story.
Milton Freewater is in Eastern Oregon and borders Washington at Washington's SR-125 and Oregon's SR-11. The main town is located 5 miles south of the Washington-Oregon border and 11 miles (16 miles) south of Walla Walla, WA.
