A collision involving a bus and pickup truck has killed one person and injured several others.

Around 6 a.m. today, Martin Tapia Mosqueda, 65 of Othello, was driving a full size passenger bus north on Adams Road and attempted to turn west onto South Frontage Road East located 23 miles west of Moses Lake.

Mosqueda turned into the path of a south bound 2003 Chevrolet pickup driven by 43-year-old Jose Guerrero Rosario of George. The collision then caused the Chevy pickup to collide with a 2003 Acura MDX driven by 36-year-old Christopher K. Guerrero Rosario was declared deceased at the scene. His body is in the care of Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison whose staff will conduct an autopsy. Guerrero Rosario’s family has been notified.

In addition to Tapia Mosqueda, there were 26 adult passengers riding the bus. Of those passengers, one was flown by air to an out of the area hospital. Several others were transported to local hospitals to be evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The passenger in the Chevy pickup, 58-year-old Jorge Jesus Martinez of Quincy, was transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center and later transferred to Confluence Health/Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee for treatment of serious injuries.
