One inmate tests positive for COVID-19 at Grant County Jail, six others exposed.

- Ephrata, WA

One COVID positive case and six COVID exposures at Grant County Jail

One inmate at the Grant County Jail tested positive for COVID-19 last week. That inmate was immediately isolated in a special area of the jail. The inmate will remain in isolation for 14 days from the day when the test results returned.

Six people who were direct contacts of that inmate have been tested for COVID-19 and will be tested every three days for the next 14 days of their quarantine. Each of them has been tested and those test results were negative.

The Grant County Health District is providing guidance to us and we are following their recommendations in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19 within the jail. All previous prevention measures will continue such as jail access restrictions, frequent disinfecting, physical distancing, and use of face coverings.
