Police searching for suspect who robbed convenience store in George Friday afternoon
Police are looking for a suspect who robbed the Sandoval’s Market in the small town of George (30 min east of M.L.). According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office the store was robbed at gunpoint around 1:00pm Friday January 29th.
According to eyewitnesses accounts the suspect is described to be a Hispanic male around 5’05” tall, around 145lbs and looks to be in his early 20s. He was dressed in a grey-hooded sweatshirt with dark colored pants and a black mask. He was armed and was seen running south into town from the store located on Frontage Rd East. Due to the investigation the amount of cash being held is undisclosed at this time.
Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies, Washington State Patrol, K9 teams, and the Quincy Police Department searched the surrounding area but had no luck. According to officials they believe that it is possible the suspect jumped into a getaway vehicle and left the area. There were no injuries reported.
