Two separate fatality collisions Sunday, one on Frontage Road E and the other on Dodson Road, claimed the lives of a 74 year old Othello man and then later a 2 year old Moses Lake girl. They have been identified as Rosario Ramos Dominquez of Othello, and Evalee Sanchez of Moses Lake.
The Grant County Sheriff’s office first responded to a 2-vehicle accident in the 3900th block of Frontage Road E between Road E and D NE around 8:20am yesterday. Christopher Raymond Zufall, age 43 from East Wenatchee was driving east bound on N. Frontage E. Rosario Ramos Dominquez, 74, from Othello was driving west bound on N. Frontage Rd E. Zufall’s vehicle drifted over the center and struck Rosario’s vehicle head on. Rosario was transported to Samaritan where he was later pronounced dead. Zufall and one passenger were also transported to Samaritan and the passenger later released.
The second fatality collision, around 3:30 pm yesterday, was near Dodson Road N and Road 4 NW. Lurie Buza, 34 from Maple Valley was traveling north bound on Dodson Rd N as Edgar Alba, 22, from Moses Lake, was south bound on Dodson Rd N. Alba attempted to make a left turn onto Rd 4 NW from Dodson. Alba turned in front of Buza's vehicle as it entered the intersection. The collision impacted the passenger side rear of the vehicle where Evalee was seated. Evalee was life flighted to Central Washington Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Non-life-threatening injuries were sustained by Buza, another adult passenger, and two children age 6 and 4. In Alba’s vehicle, non-life-threatening injuries were sustained by an adult female passenger and 6 month old child. All children were in car seats.
The Sheriff’s Office released a statement from Sheriff Tom Jones saying, “It was a tragic, heartbreaking day for so many. Please join us in support and heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of those lost yesterday.”
The investigations are being conducted by the GCSO Motor Traffic Unit.
